Learning from your mistakes makes you a better person.
In the story “Thank you Ma’am” by Langston Hughes there is Lady called Luella and a boy called Rogers. Roger decided to steal a women’s purse and run away with it to buy himself a pair of new shoes. But he didn’t know how heavy the purse was. In this story there are quotes which show how Roger changes. The quote “ when she got to her door, dragged the boy inside, down the hall, and into a large kitchenette-furnished room at the rear of the house,” it tells that by Roger being greeted with great hospitality Roger can just talk things out with each other and she can show that Roger can change. Also when Luella says “Now, here, take this ten dollars and buy yourself some blue suede shoes.” She is showing that Roger doesn't have to steel from people to get the money to just buy the shoes. All he has to do is just ask people for the money and hopefully they will give him the money. In the end i goes to show that Roger only needed some help in being a better person in life.
In this movie “The make a Difference movie.” There is a 5th grade teacher named Miss Thompson and boy named Teddy Stallard. Teddy is a boy who has been depressed since 3rd grade. Miss Thompson Teddy’s 5th grade Teacher and she finds out what is wrong with Teddy and how she changes through all of this. In this movie the words “when Miss Thompson was made to review all her students past records.” She put Teddy’s at the end. When she put Teddy’s past reviews at the last she did know what she was going to read. That line shows that she is being strict by not caring about Teddy but she starts to care about him when she finds out that his mum pasted away when he was in grade 3. The quote “ Teddy gave Miss Thompson a Christmas present which was badly wrapped and was mad out of a grocery bag. And in the present was a rhinestone bracelet with some stones missing and a bottle of perfume which was one-quarter full.” This shows that Teddy cares about people but it’s very hard for him to show his expressions to other people. But he cared about his teacher and Teddy told her that she smelt like his mum when she wore the perfume. This made her very upset for what she did to him in her classes. In the end of this it shows that Teddy was the one which taught her how to teach her students.
So in the end of both stories the people who changed just had to meet different people to change the way they are.

Betrayal Scars the Soul.
In the story "Lamb to the Slaughter" Mary Maloney is a pregnant housewife which was betrayed by her husband when he tells her that he will be leaving her for another women. Sadly enough Mary could not respond to what her husband said and she went to the basement to grab the leg of lamb which was ment for dinner. But her whole body was automatic which ment she was thinking straight. So instead of cooking the frozen leg of lamb she went behind him and swung the leg of lamb on the back on her husbands head and then she just snapped back to reality and just realized that she killed her beloved husband. By doing that she just lost the life she just had and made her unborn baby not have a father. Because of that she will not have a man to love and will not have a man to wait for after he finished work.
The movie "Inception" has a similar theme to "Lamb to the Slaughter." It was when you find out that Cobb the main character kills his own wife. But turns out he didn't want to kill her he just wanted to see if the serum was able to make her go past Inception. But in the end she was just to attached to the idea that everything was a dream and everything that she sees and does isn't real at all. So when Cobb and his wife woke up from the dream he new that everything was real but she didn't. So when they went away for their anniversary she thought she was still dreaming so in the end she killed herself by falling out of the hotel window.
I think that when they killed the person they truly loved it was something which was truly shocking for them. So in the end they couldn't love anybody who were like them and for killing them they will always remember what they did and for that they were the ones who did it.
